Quick Quotes has some gorgeous papers

I just love the orange of this paper.  And it is so pretty with my little girls dark blue velvet dress.

When I picked up the paper I also picked up the coordinating sheet of diecuts, ribbon and the rub-ons.

I found some orange Prima flowers and a big beautiful Prima butterfly that was orange too.  I love orange!

This was a fun layout to do.  I put both photos on one page and the facing page has a little journaling and a lot of beautiful embellishments; no photos. I challenge you to create a two page layout with photos only on one side.

The Cinch

New in Store: We R Memory Keepers The Cinch

The Cinch has been getting some rave reviews. Here are some highlights about it.
  • It's lightweight, compact, and very sturdy.
  • Although The Cinch is fairly easy to use, it's great that the instructions are printed directly on the machine. You'll never have to worry about misplacing your user manual again!
  • Measurements are printed in both inches and centimeters.
  • The Cinch punches stylish round holes instead of the rectangles used by many older bookbinding machines. This gives your project a clean and contemporary look while making it easier to thread the binding through the punched pages without accidentally snagging or tearing the paper.
  • If you like to scrapbook at night, you'll be pleased to learn that The Cinch is relatively quiet when in use. Most crafters who've tried the tool so far say it doesn't disturb sleeping family members.
Here's a good informative video that lets you know some key points about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH_hzop4eVA

Stop by the store and check it out today!

No time to scrapbook lately?

Consider picking up one of Making Memories 8x8 Pre-Designed Albums. These albums come all decorated for you and ladies, these are flat pages. The pages have embellishments that include flowers, buttons and brads.

The thing I really like about these albums is that they tell you what size of pictures you'll need! On each page in the picture slots are the size of photos.

There are nice journalling spots.

These are the perfect albums if you just haven't had the time to do your own scrapbooking lately.

Imaginisce scraps

I had a few pieces of Imaginisce left over from my last layout. I came across this old photo of my Duncan as a baby (he's getting his drivers license this December ~ eek!) and thought the photo and the Imaginisce needed to go together.

I sanded the edges of the photo instead of matting.  It gives a more distressed, softer look than the matte.
'monkey' alpha is by Sassafras and 'DUNC.' alpha is Thickers.
I put three of those puffy Imaginisce car stickers on my layout.  Too fun!

'Lets go fly a kite' layout with Imaginisce

So who scrapbooked over the weekend?
I did.  I chose to work with some Imaginisce papers.  It seemed appropriate as it's the featured manufacturer at Unforgettable Memories this month.  Imaginisce has some really fun, childlike prints perfect for scrapping play time photos.
I picked up a new border punch the last time I was in the store.  I've been wanting this one for a while so I was thrilled to find it.  I layered some punched circles and a torn strip of blue and then used my new border punch.
There is a neat line of puffy stickers to go along with these Imaginisce papers.  I created a trail, using my black Zig pen, from the puffy plane sticker I stuck on my page. I used Doodlebug loopy letters along the trail for the title.  I think it makes a fun title for my layout.
The next time you're in the store check out the display of Imaginisce at the front door.  You're sure to find something fun to create a layout with.

Grandma layout

I like to use the various inks and mists on my layouts.  I could just start spraying on a blank piece of paper, but then when I start placing my photos and embellishments all my pretty spraying could end up covered up.  So for this layout I started by putting my layout together.  I cut my patterned paper and matted my photo.  I placed it on my background, and decide where my embellishments would go. Then I tucked my leaf and bird masks just under the papers where I wanted them.  I lifted off the patterned papers and photo, sprayed over the masks and left it to dry for a few moments.  Then I put my papers and photo back, this time glueing it all down.
I love the glittery alpha; I think it's Doodlebug.  The letters are big so it wouldn't fit straight across.  I think it looks fun on two lines.

The large Prima flower comes with the gorgeous center.  The smaller flowers have Kaiser jewels in the centers.

I found a pretty scrolly frame rubon for the journaling.  It was from a Pink Paislee sheet.

One photo layouts are fun to do once in a while.  I usually have way too many photos to scrap to stick with just the one photo, but I wanted to scrap this one by itself.  And look at all the gorgeous embellishments I got on the page with the one photo.

So find a special photo and scrap it by itself. Do it this weekend.

Who's scrapbooking this weekend

DH is on nights all weekend so I have my evenings free.  I plan on pulling out all my goodies and spreading out across the dining room, living room and maybe even the kitchen counters if I need them.  So look for some new layouts from me next week.
I'll use Prima's June sketch as inspiration this weekend.  It's a good one.

Check out what the Prima DT has done with it.  There are some beautiful layouts on the Prima Blog.

Top Ten Reasons to Love You

Father's Day Class on Tuesday, June 15th at 7pm. A mini book titled "Top Ten Reasons to Love You." This quick mini book uses the new Bella BLVD Man of the House paper, chipboard and embellishments. All you need is 11 of your favourite vertical or horizontal 4x3 photos of the favourite Dad in your life! This class is $42.00 for non members and $37.00 for members.
Stop in the store to see complete project.

Harmonie scrapbook page

Isn't this Harmonie Paper pretty?  I love the birds and swirling branches. I cut off a 1/2" from one side and from the bottom and then layered it onto a piece of Bazzills new embossed dotty kraft paper.  Everything is distressed and inked.
I layered three pieces of torn and distressed paper under my photo. Then used some Fancy Pants rubons; the brown scroll, 'delightful', and the rose just above the title.
I really like how my title turned out.  Have you used a banner on a layout yet?  They are so easy and fun. For mine I cut 4 triangles. Glued them to my page with just a dab in the middle of the triangle because I wanted my points to be lifting off the page a little.  I put a brad in between each triangle and wrapped jute around them. The sticker letters I adhered last.

sketch layout.

A scrapbooking friend posted a sketch as a challenge.  This isn't my favourite layout that I made with the latest Crate product, but it was certainly a quick one to put together.  Sketches make it so easy to get your photos in to your scrapbooks so next time you're stuck for an idea find a sketch to use.
Pagemaps is a good place to start looking for sketches.

Did you notice the scroll on the brown strip?  That's the backing from a Prima Felt piece.  I rubbed some brown ink across the surface to take away the white shinyness.
And the grama, gramma piece I ripped from an old dictionary.  Who uses a dictionary anymore when http://www.websters.com/ is so handy?

Bazzill Matching Site

The other day while I was doing some research for a project that I'm working on I found this wonderful site that I just had to share! Bazzill Matchmaker.

"Puzzled?

Let Bazzill's color experts do the matching for you!

We are happy to help you find the perfect Bazzill cardstock to coordinate with your favorite patterned papers. We realize with more than 500 colors and 7 textures of acid-free, lignin-free cardstock it can be confusing.

Hey, there is no point in kissing any frogs...with the Bazzill color experts you get the prince every time!

It is easy to do. Select the manufacturer above and use the suggested Bazzill cardstock colors for layouts, cards, invitations, or any paper craft."

So I decided to give it a whirl. I tried Basic Grey and up came all of the lines, back to Wisteria. Not only did it suggest colours but it also showed what the papers from the line looked like just in case you didn't know which line it came from.

So if you are ever working on a project and need to know which colours coordinate, go to Bazzill Matchmaker and give it a try.

The description is "Toast the happy couple with Capella, a collection of vintage inspired Italian sweet-cream paper ribboned with bold espresso and biscotti-colored confections. Old-world elegance, ripe with tradition, perfect for your pages. Feast your eyes on pure beauty."

What I love about this line is the elegance of it. From the papers to the embellishments it is a truly beautiful line.

Stop by the store today and be inspired by the elegance of this beautiful line

Wide Open Spaces ~ a two page layout

I popped in to the store yesterday to drop off a layout. I love how this one turned out ~ it's been sitting on my desk for about 3 weeks and yesterday I decided to finish it. And it just all came together. My mojo is back!

I built the layout on Bazills embossed polka dot kraft cardstock. I'm going to be picking up some more of that the next time I'm in the store.  It could easily became a staple.
The patterned papers are by Harmonie.  The chipboard pieces and brads are by Crate Paper match the paper perfectly and are so fun to layer if you don't mind the bulk.
The ruler rub-ons, 'wind' sticker, MM alpha bits and the square under the title are bits from my stash that have been on my desk begging to be used for weeks now.

Have fun being random.

Summer is almost here

And we have the new BoBunny camping line, Roughin' It to celebrate. This cute line has all the paper and embellishments to make your summer memories just that more special.

Why not stop by today and check this and our other summer lines out?

Blog hopping.

Some days I spend a little time cruising through various blogs admiring different talent.  Maybe I can help you waste some time today.

One blog I check out every couple days is the Tattered Angels blog.  I like seeing how their design team uses their mists, screens and chips. The layout they've featured today is just gorgeous.  I love the cut out leaves and flowers layered with fabric flowers and wired leaves to create a border.

Tattered Angels has, in the past, paired with Prima; another blog I check out regularly.  They update daily with new layouts, cards and other gorgeous projects.

One of Prima's designers is Ingvild Bolme.  She creates fabulous pages and projects. I like to check out her blog to see what she has done for her other design teams. Her layouts are full of beautiful little details like stitching and tearing.  I think I might create a title under a torn corner as Ingvild did on her latest layout.  So pretty!

Another manufacturers blog that I like is Jenni Bowlin's inspiration blog. JBS manufacturers some interesting embellishments that Unforgettable Memories carries.  I like seeing how her design team has used those embellishments.

One of Jenni Bowlin's design team members is Dina Wakely.  I love, love, love her pages.  Her layouts are covered in lots of paint and ink and messiness.  If only I could be that free with the art supplies.

So what are your favourite blogs?  Let me know if you discover someone new while you're blog hopping from website to website.
