Rubon Contest Entries

Happy Canada Day weekend guys! Just wanted to remind you that we will be closed on Tuesday July 1st to celebrate with our families. Also, here are our entries for the "use rubons on anything but paper" contest.
Jane Cullen brought in this great layout. I love how she mixed all the shapes here. The single bracket is awesome.
Collette Lucier used rubon words on her photos as well. She didn't have any home repair specific rubons, so she actually used wedding rubons. How smart!
A close up of one of her rubons.

Stuff. Lots of stuff.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My computer monitor died and I was using this old beast of a thing. Seriously, it took up my whole desk and I had to place it beside me so I was getting a weird neck cramp. But I have a new monitor now, and I'm back in buisness.
Here's some of the new Rouge De Garance Cupidon line. It's all black and white. It is a wedding line, but I think that the papers would look totally cool paired with brights like the Doodlebug line.
Hahaha. I love these stamps. They're unmounted stamps from Sunday International. And they are hilarious. We also got in EZ Mount foam and Kai Scissors for all you stamp junkies.
The SEI Poppy line I mentioned before is now out on the shelves. The colours are great. I'm thinking of painting my scraproom teal and red like this line and framing some of the papers. What you do think?
The second installment of Doodlebug is here. All 12 colours have arrived in glitter paper, brads and ribbons. There's also Stick It stickers which are double sided. These are perfect for making your own glittered and flocked embellishments.
Some cake toppers from Wilton. These are so great for birthdays. My first birthday cake was a pink Carebear. I think these are such a great way to make a kid's birthday special. Heck, I want Popeye for my next birthday (Lynette I'm not going to let you forget that!) If you haven't already you should take a peek at all the cake pans we rent. There is a $20 deposit and then a charge of $5 a day. Pretty sweet deal I think. Just don't rent Popeye in November. ;)

Fall Retreat and Contest Reminder

Wow, what a great response! We've already had 14 people sign up for our Fall Retreat! There are only ten spots left. If you're interested, sign up quick, I don't think these spots will last very long. You can find all the information about retreat, as well as the registration form here - http://unforgettablescrapbook.blogspot.com/2008/06/fall-retreat-sign-up-sheet.html

Don't forget that today is the last day to bring in your entry for our Inque Boutique Inqueboard Contest! We've only had one entry so far, so things are looking good for Vicki Wilson. (Although she's probably hoping you don't bring in your projects, haha.) Remember, this is a drawed contest, we are not judging on talent, style or personal opinions. If you enter, you have an equal chance to win as all other participants. Vicki's entry used the Inqueboard flourishes, she covered them in patterned paper. Her layout focuses on the crocuses she received for Mother's Day. Great layout Vicki! Stay tuned on Tuesday for information on our next contest.

New Chatterbox and More!

Chatterbox has stepped it up - they've raised the bar from just regular patterned papers, and ventured into the world of specialty papers. These papers are not to miss - they come in flocked, foiled, embossed..... I can't even describe to you how beautiful these are, seriously. They are AMAZING. See for yourself: Here's the white chipboard alphas, teal paper pack, and chocolate minibook kit. We got the majority of this in just teal and chocolate, but some items did come in all the colours.
Imaginisce has a great birthday line out called Get Happy. It's really fun for boys or girls, young or old. Lots of great colours here and a wide variety of pieces. There's velvet brads, ribbons, flowers, rubons, chipboard pieces, alpha stickers, papers.....
Can't forget about the clear stamps - I love these things. What a great invention these were, clear stamps for under $2. How can you go wrong? There's a tonne of birthday and baby designs.
I'm just about to start entering this all in the computer, but feel free to come check it out whenever you'd like. :)

Layouts by Christine

The lovely Mrs. Walsh dropped off her newest layouts the other day. Here's shots of two of the three.... you'll have to pop by to see the third.
Here's a close up of Cookie Monster so you can see the dimension. My camera doesn't focus that well close up, sorry guys.Cookies! A great great layout idea, not something I'd think of scrapbooking, but definately a precious family memory. I love how Christine combined cookie paper, baking paper and cookie monster. She unified it all through circles in the paper, the ribbon and the shape of cookies!
Christine is lucky to have a wide format printer - the other side of this page is a full 12x12 photo. She scrapbooked elements on top of this, rubons, chipboard pieces, and stickers. If you don't have a wide format printer, you can get 8x12 photos done at Shoppers.

Cricut Jukebox!

Exciting news from Provocraft! They have just released the Cricut Jukebox - it allows you to hook up 6 cartridges to your Cricut at once for easy cutting. No more switching between cartridges! You can also pick up two, and hook up TWELVE cartridges at once. Can you imagine? These will ship in July and retail for $149.99. For a non refundable $20 deposit you can preorder yours today at a special price of $109.99!!! Don't miss your chance to get this awesome new tool at a great value price.

The Challenges Continue......

So along the past few weeks Ang and I've polled many customers on how they like the contest that we ran for the month of May in celebration of National Scrapbook Day! Well since the response was so great that you really enjoyed the Challenge and found inspiration in trying to work in different elements, perhaps with unfamiliar product lines and such I've decided to continue with the challenges. The only change that we'll really notice is that the challenges will be posted every two weeks to give you a little more time to work on your pieces and we'll try and keep you creatively inspired.
So to recap the deatils......
All you need to do is complete a layout, card, or altered project that fits that weeks theme and bring it in. We'll snap a photo and then you can take your work back home. At the end of each challenge we'll announce a winner to receive an awesome prize. We even have goodies for those who participate. This is not a judged contest, the winner will be chosen from a draw. If you participate you have a completely equal chance as all other participants to win.

So on with the details of the next challenge......
Create a page, card or project using the new InqueBoard Chipboards. It's up to you to use as little of these or as much as your hearts deisire from these packs. They just arrived this week and have an excellent value....3 sheets of 12x12 chipboard shapes and alphabets for only $7.49
So stop by and pick up some InqueBoard and we can't wait to see what you create with it.
This challenge runs from June 4th to June 17th

Week Four Winner

Congrats to Donna Ritchie for winning week four of our National Scrapbook Day Contest! She made this Father's Day card. I love all the little metal pieces on here - very masculine. She has won a 6x6 paper pad with alpha stickers, and a coordinating 6x6 album!
This is the end of our month long contest, but not the end of contests in general. Look for us soon to announce more fun challenges!

Holy Freight Batman

Funny how things happen all at once.... like how you run out of milk, cheese and eggs the morning you're going to make that big family breakfast, or when you discover you need shampoo, conditoner, toilet paper, and mascara. I find that everything seems to go at the same time, no matter how much you use it, it all just evens out. Well, the same can be said about our freight delivery schedule. Hardly anything arrived last week, and today I got 3 shipments! Check out below for what we got:

This actually arrived last Friday - new Chatterbox papers! Botanico and Eclectique..... Artsylicious should be here soon! Great earthy colours, and nice bright summer prints as well. These are in the computer and ready to be purchased!

Making Memories newest line Passport is now here in full. I am in love with their die cut papers. This line is full of blues, greens and reds. Perfect for the family road trip, the cross Canada tour, or the month in Europe. You can also see that they've released felt stickers, really neat 3D alpha stickers, and teeny tiny shimmer stickers. Somewhere in one of these photos you can see their new CLEAR STAMPS! About time Making Memories jumped on the clear stamp wagon. They have their own binder storage system you can purchase as well. It comes with storage folders so that you can store other brands of stamps in the same system.

Sandylion! Lots of essentials stickers, new Disney, clear stamps, papers, stickers, minibook kits...... great variety. Here's the Making Memories clear stamps. Also some Wilton food colour restocks.
And finally, some eye candy. Heather dropped off this layout over the weekend..... it's made with Crate Paper's line Static. She's got several photos on this layout, and made great use of rubons for her title. You need to check this one out to see how she cut out the palm trees from the paper, very cool.
Trina dropped off two layouts - here a shot of a page from one of them. She's combined Carolee's stickers with Crate Paper. To create added dimension she layered the die cuts pieces with 3D stickers for extra oomph.

Come by the store today guys and check out all the new product. Don't forget that it's the last day for several of the inventory clearance sales. There's paper's upstairs just begging to be taken home!

Check back later for our week four contest winner!
