Smash Journal

 I've got a couple more pages of my Whistler vacation finished.

Lots of bits and pieces on these pages.  Some MLYB, Cosmo Cricket, Prima and, of course, I love that tape.   I added some bakers twine and an old Chatterbox rubon.

The pocket is also one of the Smash products.  There are 4 in the package.  I used this one to save some receipts and goodies from our morning of shoppiing the village in Whistler.

This next page had macaroni pictured on the left side.  I didn't much like it so I covered it with scraps and tags and various stickers.

The right page has all my journaling.  The rubons are from my stash and I used my Smash date stamp.

I'm heading down to my scrap room to work on some more pages in my Smash journal. I'll post them as I get them finished.

Love to Craft!

 I love this new paper line from We R Memory Keepers.  It is called Love to Craft.  It is a craft themed line but the papers are so bright and fun.  This line is available at Unforgettable Memories in open stock or in a paper stack.  There is coordinating chipboard and stickers.  Check out the two layouts I created.  So happy with the way they turned out.

Shout out to Pinterest for the sketches for both of these layouts.  Search Pinterest for scrapbook sketches for inspiration!

Prima's September Sketch.

Check out Prima's September sketch.  I think I'm going to have to go shopping to Unforgettable Memories and check out the Prima section.

You can see how the Prima Design Team created with this sketch on the Prima blog.

Have fun with it.

Learning to decorate cakes...

Well, I've decided one hobby isn't enough and thought I would try my hand at decorating cakes. Did you know Unforgettable Memories sells a large variety of Wilton products? You can also rent a huge selection of pans for a very reasonable $5 a day!

You could even rent Strawberry Shortcake if you'd like! She is a favorite of mine from my childhood days. I used the cake leveler to slice a white cake in half and filled it with strawberry jam. I made buttercream icing (recipe on Wilton's website) and got some great practice at making star shapes.

Even if you aren't into fancier cakes, you need to stop by and pick up the cake icer tip! It is incredibly easy to ice the sides of cakes with this tool.

Grand Opening Drop In Craft Times

Help us celebrate our Grand Opening at Unforgettable Memories Foto Source by joining in our drop in crafting times!  We have something for all ages of crafters out there.
Unforgettable Memories Foto Source will be buzzing in the new building on Friday, September 21, 2012.  Drop in Crafting sessions are from 10:30 am to noon and then a second session from 1:30 pm to 3:00pm.  Since Friday is a Pro-D Day in our school district we have added a kids craft during these times as well.
  Adults and older children can create a beautiful fall canvas.  You should allow yourself 30 minutes to create this canvas.  All pieces have been pre-cut and it is ready to assemble.  You can embellish your canvas by inking, distressing and layering dimensions of product!  This canvas is only $10! Space is limited so if you are interested call or email to let us know you plan to attend.
 Younger children will be making up to three book marks.  Children will embellish and stamp bookmarks to create their own individual and special project.  The cost for children is $5.  Please call or email ahead of time so we can expect to see you there!

Lots of journaling.

A couple more pages from my Whistler Smash book.  This first one is mostly journaling.  The page is already decorated with layered papers and cute images.  I added some Smash tape, epoxy travel stickers and a little Making Memories tag.

The journaling is just 'stream of conciousness'.  No real plan.  I just wrote about the road trip. Blah, blah, blah...

The B page.  Perfect for my boy on his bike photos. I covered up a bit of the babyish stuff.  Journaling is about me not wanting him to pack his bike, but so glad he did because he got to use it lots. Whistler has tons of paved trails around town and the local lakes, as well as lots of rough, gravel, hilly trails for the more adventurous cyclists.  My sister and her family go up the Mountain on the gondolas and bike down the really scarey trails.  Duncan got to go with them twice while we were there.

Tape. Crate Paper chipboard stickers and brad. MLYB alpha stickers (red). American Studios chipboard alpha (grey).  Memory Makers papers.

Summer Pictures

Well. I printed off 185 pictures the other day.  That was only for May and June.  I guess I had better get scrapbooking!  My summer stash of paper and embellishments is getting a bit weak so I went to Unforgettable Memories and picked up the Stack Pack of Down the Boardwalk from We R Memory Keepers.  I also grabbed the coordinating chipboard.  Here is a couple of the layouts I completed using this product.

Mean Lean Steal Eyed Fox

Hailey played the fox in her class play "The Little Red Hen".  I was trying to think of a fox embellishment that I could use for the scrapbook page.  I googled fox scrapbook embellishments.  This little guy came up in my search.

Just so happens I remembered seeing him at Unforgettable Memories Foto Source. He is from an Imaginsce fall line.  I ran to the store and grabbed the pieces that were still available.

 I dismantled the pieces to make them less fall like and more fitting to my page.  I think the little fox is a perfect fit!

Smash Holiday journal

I'm finally getting around to working on this.  I picked up my photos more than a week ago, from Unforgettable Memories.  I had most of them printed in the 3"x4" size to accomodate the smaller size of the Smash Journal pages.

This little album is perfect for using up scraps.  I pulled out all the left over pieces from my last few layouts and lots of 'almost done' embellishment packages and went to work.

My first page is about the drive down. One of my 17 year olds just got his N and loves to drive.  He doesn't usually get to drive the new truck, but because I knew I'd want a break on the long ride, we temporarily added the insurance needed to let him drive.  It was pretty hard to get him out of the drivers seat after that.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you rememember I mentioned I grabbed the 'Baby' themed Smash Journal by mistake?  Well this next page was one of the very baby themed pages.  The words on the right page say "Just Hangin' in my Crib".  I covered up the second line and left the Just Hangin'.
The picture on the left side is of a baby in his crib.  I just covered it up with papers, my photo and lots of bits and pieces.
Lots of scraps here.  Some Crate Paper, some Jilly Bean, some Reminisce.  Lots of tape. Some Prima, Bo Bunny, Making Memories and other miscellaneous embellishments.
I'll post a couple more pages tomorrow.
