New, New,New !!!

There are so many new and exciting products in the store, it may make a scrapper feel "giddy with glee!" I am the first to admit that I feel like a kid in a candy shop when coming in and seeing the girls unpacking boxes and putting new products on the shelf. I love nothing more than slowly roaming the store waiting to discover the latest new trends and products.

My personal favorites so far have been the My Mind's Eye line, the Pebble's line (both loose and the paper packs) as well as the variety of tulle and other wonderful ribbons that have come in.

With this influx of great, new stuff, I have been thrown into a scrapbooking frenzy and I can't seem to stop! Do you need a bit of inspiration to get your motor running? Just come down to the store and check out all the great products and the wonderful classes that are now available and I'll bet you'll have the urge to create something wonderful!

Easter Class

So I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the Easter Layout
I am working on for April's class. This layouthas enough
room for two horizontal, 4x6 photos, one
vertical 4x6 photo and seven 4x4 photos or a ton of journaling space. The right page has three tiny mini books that allow you to hide or fit more photos and journaling than you would normally be able to fit on one page. The flaps close flat with a little dap of Mono Multi dried so it is removable.
I used some of the new My Minds Eye paper and Stampendous stickers. Did anyone else think that those Easter Egg stickers were just really big, really shinny, and a little bit much? It wasn't until Michelle did the display case outside the front door of the store that I realized the potential of these goodies. Thanks for the idea Michelle! I scraplifted your idea for my layout.
I just have to finish the title for this layout and of course the instructions. Then I will bring it to the store. Lynette and I will discuss dates and price and post as soon as possible.

Until then take lots of Eastery pictures to fill up this layout and see you in class.
I had more pictures put I couldn't get the writing, pictures and spacing to look right with the pictures on the right side of the page like this. It's getting late and my patients are a bit thin for this drama! LOL.

Competitive photos or competitive paper?

Have you ever found yourself feeling overwhelmed with a layout because everything just seems to be way too busy? This was the boat I was just in! From the minute I began this layout, it gave me trouble and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I LOVED the paper and LOVED the pictures but together they were not working well. I completed the layout and felt dissappointed and unhappy with it and left it sitting on my kitchen table for almost a week hoping some "solution" would magically appear in my mind the more I looked at it.

Well, I found my solution and to me, it made all the difference in the world. All I needed to do was to change the colour of my pictures as there were too many competing colours. As soon as I changed them to B&W, the layout calmed down and everything seemed to "flow" together and not compete. If you ever feel that way about a project, remember the option to switch the colour to black & white or sepia.

I was relieved that it was a simple fix and Unforgettable Memories made the changes easy to make as they now have their own photo developing lab within the store. Within a few minutes, I had adjusted the colour of my pictures as well as their sizes and my problem was solved! If you haven't used Unforgettable's photo lab, you should! save time and develop your pictures while you shop for all the great products to go with them! The sizing choices and development quality are excellent! Don't just take my word on it! Come on down and give it a try!

Are you suffering the winter blues?

I am not sure about you, but I know I am finished with winter and all the "stuff" that comes along with it. Mother Nature seems to be having a difficult time making up her mind these days so I therefore decided to take matters into my own hands.

What did I do to help beat the blues away, do you ask?

I ran down to Unforgettable Memories and got my hands on the most fun, vibrant "summery" papers and embellishments I could find and scrapbooked a couple of "fun in the sun" layouts about summer. Lynette has a great selection to choose from and I had a blast using the wonderful "Snorkel" line from Cosmo Cricket. If you haven't already seen it you need to come in and check this paper line out with its matching stickers and title sheet. It is so colourful and fun! It made me feel great just playing with it!

The other gorgeous line that I worked with was Kaiser scrapbook's and needless to say, it too helped put a smile on my face!

So until "Old Man Winter" and "Mother Nature" can come to some kind of consensus, I will keep hope that spring and summer are truly on their way by scrapbooking with this season's "hottest" new paper lines!

Of Scrapbook shopping and border punches

I was in the store on Saturday checking out all the new stuff. There is loads of it! And there were boxes still to be unpacked. I'm going to have to head in early next week to see all the 'newer' goodies.
I thought I got some Quickutz cork, Lynette, but I managed to get out of the store without it? Don't sell it all before I get back in. Cork letters would be wonderful on an outdoorsy page ~ maybe with some of that fun Cosmo Cricket paper.
Another item I looked at, but walked out of the store without was this... I wanted it, but I already have the 'Threading Water' and the 'Snowflake Embossing' border punches so thinking of my limited shelf space I left without it.

So while I'm waiting for the cork to go with my Cosmo Cricket papers I pulled some Creative Imaginations paper and epoxy stickers out of my stash. (I think there's only one package of those stickers left at Unforgettable Memories)

I found some photos from my recent trip to Victoria and started playing. That was when I realized I really needed this...
Had to have it!

My layout just wouldn't work without it.

So back to the store I went.

And here's my finished page...My ode to Tim Hortons.
Don't you think that border punch just adds so much? I love it. I know I'll use it lots!
Those cute little green birds are rubons by 'My Littly Yellow Bicycle' and the journaling paper is from an MM Noteworthy pad.

Sneaks

I'm bringing in a few new layouts today. Two double pagers and a couple singles.
Here are some sneaks...

I've been having fun playing with the Maya Mist and Glimmer Mist and finding lots of neat pieces to use as masks. I used the scrap from a Basic Grey chipboard snowflake as a mask for this first sneak. I used Frost Glimmer Mist for this spring page.

And on this sneak I used a lace diecut I cut using my Quikutz Revolution. The spray is Red Maya Mist. I love the effect on my background with the SEI chipboard, Prima flowers and Kaiser jewels.

Lynette got me playing with the Making Memories Paperie collection. You know already how much I like their journaling pads.

Some more of the Making Memories Paperie collection on this layout.
As well as lots of other goodies.

Inspiration

Here are two quick looks at the layouts I completed using the new Porcelin and Marakesh paper lines from Basic Grey. If you are looking for some inspiration the layouts should be posted on the flicker gallery soon and in the store even sooner! Thanks for looking!

BBBRRRR...

It sure is a blustery day out there today. Great for scrapbooking! I stopped by the store today and saw a couple of boxes labeled "My Little Yellow Bicycle". Oh so exciting. Sarah said we weren't allowed to peek because some special "Weekend Crop" items may be tucked in the boxes. Lynette gets very secretive as crop gets closer! Anyways, I did score a sample of the "baby Safari" line from "My Little Yellow Bicycle" back when Lynette had just returned from CHA. So I thought I had better post some pictures of this little match book I made with the cute paper. Stop by the store and see if these were the goodies that were hiding in those boxes! I heard there is glittery rub ons, cute die cuts, acetate frames and lots more!
