Christmas Ornaments

These ornaments are gorgeous on the tree with the Christmas lights reflecting in the glass and the glitter sparkling. I made them for my girlfriends and family. It's not too late to make a couple for your tree.

For each ornament you will need:

Two 2" x 2" Memory glass
8" length of wire (a thinner gauge because it's going to be sandwiched between the glass)
Beads
Christmas patterned paper (I used Sandy Lion)
Various rubons, stickers, small alpha stamps...
3D embellishments
Metal letter
Glue pad and glitter
Metal tape ~ 1/4" wide
Thread or yarn for hanging ornament

First fold the 8" length of wire in half and threaded beads on each end. About 8 or 10 beads depending on their size. Curl up the ends of the wire so the beads don't fall off.

Trim the patterned paper to fit the Memory Glass (2" x 2") Get creative with rubons, stickers, punches... and decorate each 2" x 2" surface. Just remember to use flat embellishments because it's going to be sandwiched inside the glass slides. The 3D embellishments can be added on top of the Memory Glass later.

Sandwich the wire between the two pieces of patterned paper and then the two glass slides. Be sure not to cross the wires (you want as little bulk as possible). Leave a 1/4" of the wire fold sticking out the top to form a loop for your hanging thread.

Apply the metal tape around the edges of the glass slides to hold it all together. Cut the tape so it fits around the beaded wire. It is easy to work with. Just keep rubbing it till it lies smoothly.

Drop your metal letter face down on the glue pad. Get it nice and sticky, lift off the glue pad and drop it in a bowl of glitter. Adhere the glittered letter to one side of your ornament. On the other side add some 3D stickers.

String a lenght of thread through the wire loop at the top of the ornament and it's ready to hang on your tree.
