Bo Bunny word book
Well here it is. A Bo Bunny Baby word book. This is a class. It will be on Saturday, April 24th. The best thing about this class is that Lynette has allowed us to book the class room for just about the whole day. Class will start at 10 am and go until 3 pm with a lunch break from noon to 1 pm. That's awesome because we will be able to create our embellishments in the morning, break for lunch and then come back and finish the rest of the word book. For this class we will be using all My Little Yellow Bicycle. You will be able to create a boy or girl version of this book, so be sure to specify when you register. The embellishments are stamped and then we will use Glossy Accents, Flock, Flower Soft, and Embossing Powder. If you have never tried any of these products you will surely want to sign up for this class and try out something new. This class is $40.00 for members and $45.00 for non members. Call, email or drop by Unforgettable Memories soon to register for this class.

Thursday and Friday
Yes there is a pattern to this book. When working on an acrylic album it is easier to plan, follow a pattern and it is wise to use double sided paper. We use lots of punches in this class. A corner punch, bracket border punch, scallop border punch and the apron border punch. We also use 3 different sized circle punches to create our own flower embellishments. Homemade paper embellishments are very trendy right now! Come learn how to make some. April 8th at 7pm.

Let's talk page protectors.
For a few years now, I have been using D-ring albums, and all sizes of page protectors in them -
12 x 12, 8.5 x 11, 6 x12 and 12x6, even business card and hockey card page protectors. I am not careful about what shows behind a smaller page, or if the colors clash or compliment - i love the randomness of it all.
An embarassingly long time ago, I had these photos printed into 8 x 12 size, and realized that I didn't really want to make three separate pages about my son and/or autumn, all taken at about the same time. So:
I cut one in half and put all three of them on two 12 x 12 sheets of cardstock to make a two page layout. Kind of cool, hey? It makes a big impact in your scrapbook. There are loads of photo printing options at the store of course, and I am a big fan of the 12 x 12 print too. I think this would be cool - to have just one image printed on a 12 x 24 and then cut it in half for your album (as long as you aren't cutting through a face or the focal point of your photo). I am going to find an image to do this with.
Ok, back to the previous layout - I had more photos that I had wanted to include somehow, so I cropped them all into a hockey card page protector and trimmed a third of it off because I didn't need all the spaces
Kind of difficult to show in pictures - one of those things you have to see with your hands. When my family looks at the album, they can take out the little middle page and see the whole layout if they want - more good old interactive fun with photos. Lynette has loads and loads of different sized page protectors at the store and D-ring albums if you are interested in trying out some new shapes and sizes. I think it's very liberating and can help get you out of a creative rut, should you be in one. There are NO RULES in this awesome hobby! Even the ones you make for yourself can be broken :)

Sunday and Monday
Here is a shot of my Sunday and Monday pages in the upcoming class, "Life's Little Moments". It was fun to take pictures of the little moments. One thing I learned is that you have to slow down and actually breathe through the moment when you are taking a photo. You can't fly through the moment and take it for granted. My kids thought if was fun to take random photos. I am sure they were happy to not be posing and told to smile or open their eyes!
A great way to get in "Stitch'z"
In Stitch'z Templates by Bazzill.
Add a handmade touch that says, "I made this for you!"
Each package has four, 3x5, reusable, templates filled with easy-to-follow stitching designs for adding a personal touch to any scrapbooking layout or greeting card.
Watch tomorrow for Bazzil's Floss packs that work great with these templates!

Misters
You may have noticed if you read the blog regularly that Heather shows all the fun things you can do with misters. A few days ago you can see that I mentioned the new Smooch misters that we have in stock. We also have Tattered Angels and Maya Road misters available for purchase.
Maya Road Spray Mist are water-based pigments that come in 2fl.oz pump spray bottles. There are 8 base colors and 3 metallic glitter colors. Spray a coat of metallic mist before adding on a base color for a shimmery sparkle effect.
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist is a quick and easy spray that delivers just a touch of glimmer in a fine mist to make all of your projects shine. Glimmer Mist puts an end to messy, clumpy, and time consuming conventional glitters with over 80 colors to choose from so finding the right one for your project is easy. Glimmer Mist is safe for and adheres to all types of materials including paper, acrylic, metal, and fabric.
Here is a great example of Heather's misting techniques. Why not try it for yourself?

I Challenge You...
I challenge you to document life right now for one week. We are all busy working or raising kids, volunteering, working out, having fun, watching TV. What ever it is document right now. Use pictures and words to record each day for one week then join me on Thursday, April 8th at 7 pm to create an acrylic album.
This year it is one of my creative goals to scrapbook the everday little moments more often. I have always wanted to make a project using pictures from one week. It is hard to pack your camera around and take pictures of everyday moments. It is so much easy to document BIG events like birthday parties or milestones. Just pack your camera with you everywhere. You might be surprised with the great shots you get!
Here is a shot of the book we will be creating. We will use Bella BLVD. Swing into Spring paper. This is an acrylic album so you will also learn how to plan and layer pages.
This book will also be ready for anyone going to Spring crop. This would be an easy project to finish there exspecially if you take your photos this week and have them ready to take with you.
All photos are 2x3 and horizontal. For Sunday you will need 4 to 8, 4 photos for Monday and Tuesday, 4 or 5 photos for Wednesday and Thursday, and 4 photos for Friday and Saturday.
You have a couple of weeks so get busy and take those pictures! See you in class!

Finding inspiration
Life has been a little more hectic than usual at our house, and when I got a chance to sit down at my art area, I found myself just sitting there staring at stuff, wondering what to do and where to start. Need some inspiration...what to do, what to do... and I look over and see my simple old sewing machine.
OK! I'm feeling inspired to make something. Now...I need a layout upon which I can sew...
So I started here with a simple sewn border - very subtle, but still noticeable and keeps the eye from wandering off the page:
And then I found a package of older Making Memories product and decided to use the tags as a border - no glue, just sewed 'em on.
And then zipped a messy border around the photo and diecuts:
And for the last one, I was looking at my copious supply of Bazzil borders, and had a brain wave:
a layered "snow look" for a page about our first time skiing with our two oldest boys last spring.
I didn't glue any of the borders either - just started stitchin! Hope you have some time to scrapbook this weekend, and maybe you'll pull out that sewing machine a try a few stitches on some projects. Once you start, you'll want to sew on every layout you create. I'm not kidding.

Using Journaling notes
I've been waiting anxiously for all the new product to start arriving in the store. In the meantime I've been trying to use up what I already have and, slowly, clean and organize my scraproom. I discovered I have quite a few pads of journaling notes. Mostly Making Memories ones.
I put together a couple of layouts using those journaling notes as partial mattes for my photos. Maybe I can give you some ideas on using up your extras.
I bought the Making Memories pad of journaling pages when I picked up the coordinating line of papers and embellishments. I used a few pages of the pad for my layouts at that time, but still have more than half the pad left.
On the layout I used 3 pages to matte my photo and a 4th to make the pleated strip and the piece at the top of my page.
The stickers are all 7 Gypsies from their travel line.
On 'my nerd' I used only one journaling note. Everything else (photos and embellishments) are layered on top. This was a really quick simple layout. Especially because I used a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
