Hey scrappy girls... just a few layouts using the Quick Quotes Paper that is the vendor of the month at the store. Love the teal blues.

Let me just say again how AWESOME mists are. I didn't have any yellow cardstock, so I just sprayed some sunflower yellow on white paper. The best thing in scrapbooking since...well, paint.

Close-up of some sweet little embellies from the store, by Prima.

And a two page layout with the same three sheets of patterened paper. I used quite a few stamps on this one, and whenever I do that, I go on a stamping binge and pull them all out and use them on everything. Which is good, because my friends will tell you how many stamps in my collection are sitting in their packages, awaiting their first use. We all have this problem, right? Right?!

Fun Summer Paper

Here is another layout using the Fancy Pants Rusted Sun paper. I love the colors and fun designs of the paper.

Pre School Graduation

Just because a paper line is not the theme you are looking for does not mean you can't use it in your layout. The paper I used for Hailey's preschool graduation is actually a wedding or love paper from Quic Quotes. The graduation stickers are 7 Gypsies and the Cap and Gown is Jolees. It all tied together because of the colours.
I cut half of the backside strings off of the tasel and attached it to the layout with Super Tape. Then I mounted and pop dotted the sticker tags over top to secure the strings in place and stop them from getting all messy later on.

The cap from the Jolees came with a burgandy tasel. I cut that one off and made my own with some of the left over strings. It was small and fidely but I was happy in the end! YAY!

The Quic Quotes paper I used is on sale until the end of this month.

Canada Day Layout

Banners are all the rage as Heather posted earlier. They are in every magazine and companies are coming out with tones of product that is banner inspired or banner friendly! I decided to jump on the banner bus and get creating!

I used some ribbon as to bring the banner together. The base of the banner flags are Jeni Bowlin tickets. The mable leafs are foam from a kids bucket of foam pieces. And then just some white sticker letters to spell "O Canada".

Here is the entire layout. The dot paper is Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety the plaid is also Cosmo Cricket from the Boyfriend line. And the lined paper is Jeni Bowlin! Stop by the store and chec out this layout and get started on your Canada layout today!

2 page layout using an MME line

Cloud paper has been popular for the last few months and has appeared in a few different manufacturers lines.  I love this green MME cloud paper.  When I spotted it I couldn't resist grabbing a couple pieces and the bits and pieces that coordinated with it.

I cut up the dotty paper that comes in a fun shape and used it to ground my photos.  Doesn't it make a fun edge with the curves that look like brackets?  'Little Man' is a diecut piece that comes as is. All I added was the flower.  'Big World' is the set of Alpha stickers that coordinates with this line of papers.

I found a sheet of words and two alphabets by Bella Blvd that coordinates nicely with this line of MME so I used them on this layout as extra embellishments.  The center of the flowers and the word strip in the top left corner are from this sheet.

I love making banners.  It's my new favourite 'technique'. I can't stop cutting out triangles ~ I think I need a triangle punch to make things easier. I put little round alpha stickers on my banner that reads 'gondola ride'.

One trick I use to keep everything lined up across 2 sheets of paper when creating two page layouts is too glue down uncut papers that span the pages. I don't cut them along the seam untill I've finished the layout.  This ensures I don't jiggle my pages and end up with crooked joins.  BUT I have to remember that there will be a seam there in the end and titles/journaling should be seperated across the seam.  I wasn't paying attention on this layout and ended up cutting through the 'W' on WORLD. I also ended up with my journaling on the seam.  I did move my strips so that the cut went between words instead of through words.
Something to think about when you're building two page layouts...

Scraps, scraps and more scraps.

I have some gorgeous Bella Blvd papers to use on my next layout, but when I went down to scrap I found a big mess left over from my last few layouts.  I figured I better get it cleaned up before starting on a new project.
I started collecting chipboard pieces, scraps of paper and cardstock, and other embellies I thought I might use on previous layouts, but hadn't.  Then I found a lone photo that I've been meaning to scrap forever. I put it in the pile with my newest Shimmer Mist and my bird mask, hauled it all upstairs to my diningroom table  (because my scraproom table still wasn't clean enough to work on) and started playing.

I cut the edge of an MM note and used the bracket shaped piece to ground my title. The rest of the note is under my photo.

I used my 1/2" circle punch to create the scallop cardstock edge.

I scratched a frame around my photo using a ruler and my paper piercer tool.

I challenge you to grab some bits and pieces and put together a page in under an hour.  Quick, quick. Get scrapping.
