Prima Sketch

Did anyone try Prima's February sketch?  I did.  My layout is below.

I've used some older Prima papers and rub-ons as well as Prima blooms, leaves and stamps.

I started with a sheet of cardstock and layered washi tape under the photo mattes and a strip across the top of the layout.  Then I sprayed, drizzled and dripped various colours of Glimmer mist over it all.  Yellow, blue, and pink.  I decided it was too bright so covered everything with a thin layer of white paint to tone it down.  Just enough of a layer to wash all the colours out.

I used a rose from Prima's mini motifs screens on each side of my photo matte with blue spray mist. It is subtle, but I like how it turned out.

I used my chevron stencil to create some texture and then drizzled some turquoise glimmer mist over it.

Then I used a small acrylic, floral Prima stamp and pink ink to add some more pattern. And a script stamp with black ink to add further pattern.

The 'I heart U' is a Prima rub-on as are the cute little creatures elsewhere on the layout.

I layered cheesecloth under my layered photo matte and some vellum strips. The zig zag is washi tape.  Check out the store for loads of great washi tape designs.

A cluster of embellishments with a Prima felt 'b' for my Breanna.

And a Prima felt 15 for my daughters age.

I hope Fort St John has contributed a few layouts to Prima's sketch challenge this month.

Coffee time

Have you seen the wonderful coffee themed kraft papers in the store?  I cut the coffee banner directly from the paper, for my title.  I love the strip with the little coffee cups on it. One of our Whistler traditions is to walk down to Starbucks every morning at 7:3 gr frappacino. No sleeping in when we're on holidays with Grandma :)

The background is red bazzill sprayed with brown mists, splattered with black paint and dabbed with white dauber.

Here are some closeups...

The big Bazzill buttons are great for flower centers.  I use them a lot.
The  chipboard jar is wrapped with bakers twine and I added a butterfly just because.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 I used some brown jute to hang my banner with Prima flowers at either end.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The lightbulb strip is some washi tape.  Unforgettable Memories has a great selection of tape scattered throughout the store. I want one of each.

Some more tape, chipboard and layered beneath it all is 7Gypsies tissue paper, cardstock and vellum.

My photos are all 2x3 size.    Unforgettable Memories developes in all sizes. Big and little.

Prima Sketch

I'm really liking Prima's sketches lately.  Check out the drippy paint on this one.  Love it!

Check out the Prima blog to see what the Prima Designers have done with this sketch.

And the Prima Educators blog for a couple more layouts using this sketch.

I'm going to check through my photos tonight, and find a couple that would work for this sketch.  And pick paint colours.  I really like that drippy effect!
