a Princess is born

I loved this Karen Foster patterned paper as soon as I saw it.  It is so pretty and girly. I didn't want to cover up too much of it so I layered everything under and around my one photo.
This photo is from 1998.  The day we bought our baby girl home.  Her two brothers were so thrilled and happy to show her off to their friend; that little cutie sitting between them.

M,y how time flies. Those two little boys are graduating this year.  And one of those handsome dudes gets to take that little cutie, sitting between them, to the prom. She is still as cute as she was way back in 1998.

My layers under the photo include a Jenni Bowlin bingo card, two pieces of packaging from Prima's flowers, a couple of sprayed and misted tags (one I've journaled on), some cheese cloth, a MLYB journal card and some corrugated cardstock. On the photo I've placed a piece of vellum with 3 butterflies punched out of it, and some word stickers.

On to some closeups...

I tucked a pretty white, sparkly, Prima butterfly under the flowering branch.

I liked the negative look of the vellum so I used this piece instead of the punched butterflies ~ I'll save them for another layout.

My journaling is on one of the sprayed, misted tags and tucked behind the photo.

I love the Prima flower branches.  I used some of the tendrils from this branch for my previous 'Heron' layout.  It didn't make this branch look any the worse for wear.
I added a few brown, edged with pink, Prima leaves under and around the flowers.  I liked the colours with this paper.

I was in Unforgettable Memories today and they must have just gotten a shipment of Prima because there are loads of new flowers to pick from.  Lots of these flowering branches in different colours and lots of new flower sets, some with coordinating leaves and different sizes.  I went a little crazy so I will be scrapping with lots of pretty flowers for the next little while.

Using my stash...

I started building this layout on two pieces of green Bazzill. It has little flowers embossed into it, but you can't see that in the pictures.  It looks very pretty IRL.

I used a big doily as a mask and sprayed Mr Huey's white mist over it.  That gave me a pretty background to work on.

I picked through my scrap stash to find some papers I liked with my photos.  I found some pretty Doodlebug snowflake paper, BoBunny valentines papers and the black is Creative Imaginations. The blue is some dotty Bazzill.  This is what my page looked like before I added the title and some embellishments.
Did you notice the pink strip at the bottem?  After taking the photo I decided I wanted more green so I pulled out the pink and cut some green Quick Quotes pp for that spot.

I stamped the words to "You're a mean on Mr Grinch" down the side of my page. I used a mini alpha stamp set. These stamps are so great for long titles and/or journaling and they are so cheap.  Unforgettable Memories has a few fonts and they're under $3.00 each.  Wow! That is a really good deal for something you can use over and over again.

I used some Jenni Bowlin buttons on my page.  Those are BoBunny brads that I stuck through the button holes. I punched some big snowflakes out of Little Yellow Bicycle Valentine paper.  The pink has a pretty shimmer to it.

I don't think I've made a layout, without using the bakers twine, recently.

Simple Stories two page layout

Sunday, 12 February, 2012Simple Stories two page layout

I found a new sketch blog... it's called Sketchabilities. Check it out. I used this weeks sketch and stretched it to a double pager.

I started off with a couple pieces of white bazzill and all the leafy masks I owned. Most of them are Heidi Swapp leaf masks. I sprayed green Glimmer Mist and then splattered some yellow ink in places.

I chose the baby line from Simple Stories; I love the colours! And started placing my pieces...

I picked this sketch because I love the banners. I had so much fun putting them together...

I have a triangle punch for those flags. The others I hand cut...

I added some Jenni Bowlin tickets, MM love tabs, Stickers from the Simple Stories line and some big brads...

I loved this sketch. And love how my page turned out...

So check out Sketchabilities. I know I'll be checking out their next sketch.

Just Add Water

My husband came up with that title.  We spent a weekend camping at Pillar Lake in July.  Most of our waking hours were spent on the water in a variety of little boats the Resort rented out.

I designed my layout on a couple pieces of Bazzills embossed dotty cardstock.  In dark blue this time.

The tree patterned paper by K & Co is perfect for all those outdoor photos we've been taking all summer. I've used some Bella Blvd camping cutouts, Basic Grey rubons, Jenni Bowlin buttons and Bo Bunny brads.

I love that leafy ribbon ~ Unforgettable Memories has it in a variety of colours.

I managed to get 9 photos on this layout.  It really helps to get all those summer photos scrapped before the snow flies.
I challenge you to scrap a layout with 9 or more photos on it.
