Nature photos

My Dad took this gorgeous photo of a heron in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria.

I used My Little Yellow Bicycle patterned papers, chipboard and notes.

The red and black paper is scraps of BoBunny's oriental Serenity line from the layout I did of my friends daughter in a kimono.

I used my border punch on the black paper. I just love the little mushroom.  It is Prima as are the flowers and foliage. The bling is Zsa.

 I made a couple of random little banners with the chipboard pieces.

3rd challenge done

Where has March gone?  I had such great aspirations at the beginning of the month. 
So far I've only managed to get 3 challenges completed.
This one is from the Kraft It Up blog.

The challenge was:

1. 1 Kraft paper

3. 3 word title
4. 4 patterned papers ~ My Little Yellow Bicycle
5. 5 embellishments ~ Prima bling leaves, MM flags, Prima flowers, Bakers twine, punched butterflies

Still tonight and tomorrow to work on a challenge (or two).  Anyone else have any to show us?

Challenge #1

I used the March sketch at Stuck?! Sketches for my first challenge layout.

My layout came together quickly because I used coordinating pieces from Little Yellow Bicycle's Saturday line. I used the chipboard shapes and tear-out tickets for my banner.

This photos are of my son at his first job.  I let all his workmates know I wanted a picture of him working so they all stood around and teased him til he refused to look at the camera.  He was totally embarassed.  Poor boy.  He'll be glad I got these photos... in a hundred years :)

The banner is my favourite part.  I really love this banner trend. The triangles, buttons and word flags are from the chipboard package. The cardstock flags and tickets are from the tear-out booklet.

I still have tons of chipboard pieces, tear-out tickets and papers from this line and I'm already planning my next challenge with them.

The finished layout

Here's the finished layout on the background I created last week.

If you remember, the last picture in last weeks post showed my photos on several layers of patterned paper. I had to take a bunch of it off because I couldn't bear to cover up all my spraying and inking. I used a few bits and pieces of patterned paper to matte my photos, some cheesecloth for texture and, of course, some Prima flowers.

Other products I used were:
BoBunny stickers and alpha, SEI alpha stickers, MLYB chipboard buddies(aren't they adorble?), Kaiser plane brad. I think thats all.

Bo Bunny 'Welcome Home' line ~ a two page layout

Here it is.  The page I showed you in my last post. I finished it on Monday and got my dining room table all cleaned off so we could eat dinner together as a family.

The papers are from the Bo Bunny Welcome Home line.  I also used the Noteworthy diecuts. The frame and journaling bit on the lower left group of photos is from the diecut package, as is the piece I've journaled about all the 'good food' we ate on. And the journal spot with the photo grouping in the lower right corner. So I used 4 pieces from the pack and have loads left over for future layouts.

 I love the 12 x 12 sticker sheet. You can see I used a couple of the border strips on this layout. They are a little shy of 12" so I added some strips of patterned paper crossways to cover the gap.
I also used some of all 3 alphas. I really like that this line comes with three (3) alphas.
And I tucked away the 3 round stickers on my layout. They are perfect embellishments on any page. Can you spot them?

The title is left over from a Crate Paper diecut sheet (the colours just happened to work perfectly with this line).

The dimensional butterflies are My Little Yellow Bicycle. 

I cut up one of Prima's felt branches to embellish my cream coloured flowers with. 

Each flower is centered with a Kaiser pearl.

Who's scrapping this long weekend?

I am. 
My friends and I took a long weekend and headed to Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. It was such a good time.  None of my girlfriends scrapbooks so I ordered a set of 2" x 3" photos and thought I'd put together a layout for each of them. 

So far I've got my background done.  Starting with kraft cardstock I used my border mask and 'Cherub Pink' glimmer mist to divide my page into thirds. 

Then I randomly stamped using Pinecone ink and various stamps from my collection.  I love the feather stamp!

I picked up the BoBunny 'Welcome Home' line last week.  So I used some pieces from that to edge my page as well as the border stickers from the matching sticker sheet.

The sticker sheet comes with 3 different alphas. Green, blue and tan.  I used the green one for my date.

I better get this layout done by this afternoon.  My scrapping stuff has been all over the diningroom table for a week now and I think my family is getting tired of looking at it.

I did manage to get a couple of layouts done for my own album.

I used scraps of BoBunny and Imaginisce for this page.  And puffy stickers from Creative Imagination.  The alpha stickers are MME. The buttons are from BoBunny's "Welcome Home" line.  There are some really interesting buttons in this packet.

I got a lot of mileage out of my 4 sheets of the Welcome Home line by BoBunny. I used if first on this layout and then scraps on the two pages above. Aren't the background sheets on this layout gorgeous? Some border punches and stickers from the same line. You should really check it out next time you're in Unforgettable Memories. There are lots of add-ons that go with it; buttons, chipboard, jewels, stickers...

Oops.  My blue branch of leaves came loose and is floating on the left there. :)  The chipboard is sticky backed, but a little glue would have been a good thing.
The MLYB line goes really well with the BoBunny.  I picked up the chipboard (birds and branch with circle words hanging from it) and the decorative matts; circle and the square(cut in half).

Fun with glitter.

There are so many sparkly embellishments available. I love them. When I picked out the glittery Prima butterfly to go on this layout I decided I needed more glitter on my page. This is what I used...

1. Glue Pad.
2. A tin with the right circumference for the circle I wanted. (This one is a Maya Rd tin; I think it had felt birds in it.
3. Glitter. I used Making Memories glitter in a copper colour.

I laid out my page and then used the tin and a pencil to lightly mark where I wanted my circle.

I dipped the edge of my tin into the glue pad; just like you would a stamp.  After I moved the photos and mattes out of the way I stamped down with my tin on to the pencil mark I had made earlier. After lifting the tin off the paper I sprinkled a good thick layer of glitter over my circle.

I think the circles really add to the finished page. And it was a really quick easy addition to create.

Getting messy with two page layouts

I got some photos of our pets last month.  Turbo is the cat my daughter got for Christmas last year.  She picked him out herself, at the SPCA.  He is a really neat cat with loads of personality.  Tikanii, our lab/husky cross has a lot of fun with him.  They chase each other round the yard and pretend to attack one another.

I sprayed rose and gold Glimmer Mist over one of the big Glimmer Screens I have. Then used some torn scraps of paper I had left over from previous layouts.  I love the 7 Gypsies paper and I know there's still some in the store so ask for it the next time you go in.  The pinks and greens are the same tones as in my photos and the black flocked design on top really makes it a gorgeous dressy paper though I've shabbied it down for these photos.

The print paper and word stickers are Bella Blvd. The bling corner is Zsa (love it).  The bird cages are Jolee's (aren't they cute?) and, of course, I have lots of Prima on my page.

Turbo also spends a lot of time dreaming about catching Rick's goldfish.  He spends a lot of time peering in to the fish pond and has, on occasion, gone swimming to get a closer look. So far he hasn't had any luck catching a fish, but you know it's just a matter of time.

On this layout I started out with two sheets of the white Bazzil embossed polka dot paper.

I sprayed it randomly with turquoise ink and splattered some darker ink on top of that.

Then I layered my torn scraps of Bella Blvd patterned papers.

The acrylic arrow is a My Little Yellow Bicycle 'clear cut'.

The tags are inked. I used some chipboard from my stash and journaled around them.

The title is Basic Grey. Flowers and leaves are Prima.

Did you notice I used one of my border punches to punch circles in my photos?  Kinda like fish bubbles coming up out through the water :)

Bo Bunny and MLYB Baby Word Book

Hopefully you had a chance to stop by the Unforgettable Memories booth at the Trade Show this weekend and sign up for the Bo Bunny and MLYB Baby Word Book. Bo Bunny word book

Well here it is. A Bo Bunny Baby word book. This is a class. It will be on Saturday, April 24th. The best thing about this class is that Lynette has allowed us to book the class room for just about the whole day. Class will start at 10 am and go until 3 pm with a lunch break from noon to 1 pm. That's awesome because we will be able to create our embellishments in the morning, break for lunch and then come back and finish the rest of the word book. For this class we will be using all My Little Yellow Bicycle. You will be able to create a boy or girl version of this book, so be sure to specify when you register. The embellishments are stamped and then we will use Glossy Accents, Flock, Flower Soft, and Embossing Powder. If you have never tried any of these products you will surely want to sign up for this class and try out something new. This class is $40.00 for members and $45.00 for non members. Another Valentine's Day Layout

This is another Valentine's layout. The scallop heart shape is a pocket to store all of Hailey's special Valentine cards. All the paper and embellishments are from My Little Bicycle.
